I'm really excited about getting this monthly peer therapy going for Black Women! I've been working on getting it together since Fall 2021 and this month, now we're onto our 3rd session & it just keeps getting better!
If you are interested in peer therapy this might be the space for you.
"Sister Circle : Recharge & Refresh" is about getting together to release the burdens we carry every day. A space to get 2 hours a month to feel free around people who look like you, feel like you, love & hurt like you, succeed like you. A lot of the time we don't know that we're not alone, so this is a space to relate, speak, listen, dance, laugh, cry, be seen & heard.
I'm working with Earth Groundz in Yonkers which is a Black, Woman owned space. The owner is an amazing Midwife named Nubia Earth, she attended all 3 of my births as a doula twice and midwife with my 9 month old. She has a lot of community events like prenatal yoga, African dance, chocolate milk cafe (breastfeeding support group meeting), fatherhood fridays (virtual meeting for fathers), etc.
Now 'Sister Circle' is to be added to the queue!
We've been allotted the last Wednesday of every month from 6:30-8:30pm so we can clean up and have everyone trickle out by 9pm. Carpool is available from Brooklyn, leaving at 4:30pm. 1st come 1st serve, gas money appreciated.
